Please read this document first BEFORE placing your order, Click here to identify your VTC type.  If you're having trouble identifying your VTC type, please send us an e-mail, we'll gladly assist you!

For early (1990-1993 N/A and 1990-1994 TT 300ZX) applications:
These pulleys will fit ALL of the above models years, however:
1. If your engine is equipped with the early style "6-hole" VTC pulleys (most common pulleys on the early VG30DE(TT) and can easily be identified by their six holes located around the central hub), then your pulleys are NOT eligible for a core return credit and you will need to select the "core required" option ($400 core fee will be applied).
OR
2.  If your engine is equipped with the early style "service replacement" VTC gears, your pulleys are eligible for a core credit, however you have the option of sending your cores in first (no core fee is charged), or you may keep your VTC gears and select the "core required" option ($400 core fee will be applied).

For late (1994-1995 N/A and 1995 TT 300ZX) applications: There are no specifics for your year of engine, please select the "late" option.  You have the option of sending your cores in first (no core fee is charged), or you may keep your VTC gears and select the "core required" option ($400 core fee will be applied).

Notes about core options:

1.  If "Sending Cores First" is selected, you will not be charged a core fee, however you are responsible for the shipping costs to send cores in.
We will contact you after you place your order with further instructions to submit your cores.  Your order will not ship until the cores are received and are deemed to be rebuildable (ie. not physically damaged, mishandled or abused).  Cores must be received within 30 days of placing the order.

2.  If "Cores Required" is selected, you will be charged a core fee of $250.

When shipping your cores, keep your VTC front covers and hardware to re-use. Late VTC front covers are different than Early front covers, AND, Late front covers are no longer available from Nissan.

Optional 3rd Element Timing Indicator

Camshaft degreeing takes into account machining variations throughout the entire engine and synchronizes each camshaft's timing precisely to the crankshaft. In the past, after degreeing with a traditional two element timing system, the end number on the adjustable pulley's timing scale would have no relevance to the now "degreed" camshaft timing and this could lead to a potential for confusion while tuning. Multiple camshafts, all with different final settings, tend to compound the issue even further.

The BDE 3rd element allows camshaft timing to now make sense after degreeing so you can make tuning changes on the dyno and always know where your original degreed zero point was.

Beginning with the 1994 NA model Nissan changed their VG30DE VTC pulleys to a multi-piece unit with a separate outer drive pulley; the TT followed suit in 1995. The internal mechanisms are the same as the early model VTC except for the substitution of using teflon sealing rings. Most importantly, the piston return spring is exactly the same as that which was used in the Early model VTC, and this spring is the primary part which allows VTC noise to occur.

At first glance, a stock Late VTC appears adjustable, similar to aftermarket race pulleys, but the bolts used to attach the pulley are located on the back making them completely inaccessible once the VTCs are installed on the cams. The bolt-on pulley with adjustment slots are more of a production aid which allowed the assembly worker to align the timing marks faster during manufacture. However in doing so, the bolts are typically not centered in the slots and do not allow an equal amount of adjustment from either side of zero. When BDE rebuilds late model VTCs, we set the bolts directly on center with the adjustment slot, allowing a full ±10° (crankshaft) of adjustment from either side of zero. Also, BDE relocates the adjuster bolts to the front of the sprockets making them truly adjustable when installed.

Fitment:
1990-1993 NISSAN 300ZX N/A (Z32 - VG30DE)**
1990-1994 NISSAN 300ZX TT (Z32 - VG30DETT)**
1990-1993 NISSAN FAIRLADY Z N/A (Z32 - VG30DE)**
1990-1994 NISSAN FAIRLADY Z TT (Z32 - VG30DETT)**
1995 NISSAN 300ZX N/A (Z32 - VG30DE)
1995 NISSAN 300ZX TT (Z32 - VG30DETT)
**Will fit specified model years, however your cores may not be eligible for credit unless your engine is currently equipped with the "service replacement" style VTC pulleys.
Will not fit 1996+ VG30DE(TT) engines as they were no longer equipped with VTC.
